Spoony J's Page

This is Spoony J's Page, otherwise known as our son Jake.

The Legend of Spoony J

When our son was born in 2005, I was working as a Technology Coach, helping teachers in our district learn how to integrate technology into their instruction.

Being a "learn by doing" person, I decided to make podcasts so I could be able to show teachers and students how to create podcast projects of their own.

Using Garage Band as the primary tool, I created series of Podcasts, thinking I'd be able to keep it up consistently during the first few years of our son's life. Unfortunately, life got in the way, and the "Spoony J Podcast" became a short lived series.

Garage Band also allowed third party audio "packs" that broke down songs into different tracks, making it easy to remove vocals, turn up certain tracks, and soften others. I purchased a Hip-Hop Audio Pack and used the instrumentals from famous rap songs as the background for the vocal tracks that I recorded directly into Garage Band.

Here are the first five episodes, altering my voice with Garage Band's "mouse" filter.

The Early Years

The first few years after Jake was born, I was working as a Technology Coach, helping teachers learn how to integrate technology into their instruction. Some of my favorite tools back in 2005-2008 included ComicLife, Garage Band, and Kid Pix.
