After our wedding, we said
goodbye to family and friends, and headed to Xpu-Ha ('shpoo-hah')
Palace in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico. We took a 45-minute taxi ride
from
Moon Palace to Xpu-Ha. Once we arrived, the atmosphere was COMPLETELY
different from anything we've ever seen! Xpu-Ha is known as an "Eco-Resort"
where all rooms and buildings are built to blend into the surrounding
jungle. We were surrounded by wildlife such as flamingoes, crocodiles and
caymans,
iguanas, koatis, deer, turtles, a wide variety of birds, and lots of
hermit crabs, too. It was a beautiful place. Leah and I did snorkeling,
sea kayaking,
and lots of hiking. We hope you enjoy some of the photos we took from
our stay at Xpu-Ha.
Since this was also an all-inclusive resort, we also did our share of
eating and drinking. My personal favorite was a Banana Monkey (rum, kahlua,
pina colada mix, and a fresh banana). Mmm...banana monkeys!
