Here is a 'rubric' our group created to help define the elements of good website design.

NAVIGATION

Easy to move forward and backward within the site	Requires users to use BACK button in browser instead of within site	Can't get back to where you were
Navigation buttons are aligned on the top or left, spaced evenly, and text navigation is on bottom of page	Navigation buttons are on right and bottom of page only	Buttons aren't visible without scrolling to see.
Users search for information via database/keyword search	Users can find info on home page or site map	Users cannot find specific info quickly
Rollover buttons are used to help users identify links	Links are underlined to show navigation.	Dead links. Users receive message:"404 error: file not found"

USABILITY

Information is easily accessible (site map or keyword search)	Information is available by linking to other pages within site	Animations and clutter make info difficult to find
