NETS Standard 4: Teachers apply technology to facilitate a variety of effective assessment and evaluation strategies

Specific Topic: Generating multiple-choice questions that address higher order thinking skills and the ability to ask well-written, unambiguous questions

Instructional Goal of Lesson: After reading the information on this website, users will be able to create an online survey for their students that include assessments OF learning and assessments FOR learning.

Summary: Read through each section of this Web site as well as the resources provided. Take notes as needed. After you are familiar with higher order thinking skills, Bloom's Taxonomy, and the difference between assessments OF learning vs. assessments FOR learning, you will create a two-page questionnaire for your students using one of the free test-making sites provided. Your task is to create an account on SurveyMonkey and create SIX questions to ask your students:

  • Create three open-ended questions that are assessments FOR learning in order to gain some insight about your students.

Online Lesson Components:

Learning Objectives: The adult learners will be able to create SIX questions with SurveyMonkey: three that are assessments OF learning and three that are assessments FOR learning.
